How Lit Delivery Customizations works, how to set it up in two minutes, and the answers to the questions merchants ask most.
Set up in two minutes
- Open the app and pick a template, for example Hide express shipping for heavy orders.
- Check the conditions (when the rule applies) and the changes (what it does to which delivery options). Delivery option names must match what your checkout shows, for example Express. The app suggests the names of your shipping rates and pickup locations.
- Save. The rule is live at once and shows up in Shopify under Settings → Shipping and delivery → Delivery customizations, where you can switch it off at any time.
- Test it: add products to a cart on your store and go to checkout.
What a rule can do
- Hide delivery options, including all pickup locations at once (the pickup choice then has nothing to offer for that cart).
- Rename them, with a different name per checkout language. Use
{title}to keep the original name, for example{title} (2-3 business days). - Move one to the top or the bottom, or sort by price.
Every change can depend on conditions: cart total, cart weight, number of items, products, collections, product tags, country, province or state, postal code, customer tags, logged-in or guest, whether free shipping is on offer, and whether the shopper picked shipping or pickup.
Shopify's shipping move on 1 July 2027
Shopify is moving every store to market-based shipping (rollout since October 2026, required from 1 July 2027). Shipping profiles become market shipping options, rates apply to all products by default and options from overlapping markets stack. After the move many checkouts show more delivery options than before, sometimes two with the same name. Your rules keep working: they match options by name, not by profile. The template Clean up duplicate options after Shopify's shipping move hides the extra options for the countries you choose. After you switch, open your checkout once per main country and check the option names in your rules.
Safety
- A rule never hides every shipping option of a shipment. If it would, it hides none for that cart, so a shopper can always check out. Hiding all pickup locations is allowed, because shipping is still offered.
- If a rule cannot be read or a condition cannot be checked (for example no address yet), the rule does nothing for that checkout.
- Several rules can apply to the same checkout. Rules don't see each other, so two rules that each hide different options could together hide them all. Keep one rule per job.
FAQ
My rule doesn't change anything at checkout.
Check the option name in the rule against the checkout (matching ignores upper and lower case). Check that the rule is on in the app and in Settings → Shipping and delivery → Delivery customizations. Customer tag conditions only see logged-in customers.
Which stores can use it?
Delivery customizations from apps run on every Shopify plan.
What happens when I uninstall?
Shopify removes the app's rules, and your checkout shows all delivery options again.
How many rules can I have?
The Free plan includes 3 active rules with every feature. Pro has unlimited rules (Shopify allows 25 delivery customizations per store).
